POLYPIPE POLYSTORM

Soakaway Solutions

Polystorm

The Polystorm soakaway system is a versatile, modern alternative to the traditional inefficient rubble-filled soakaway. Soakaways of any size or
shape are easily constructed on site from a number of lightweight, load bearing, modular cells. The structure can be configured to suit site constraints - it may be a narrow trench configuration at the edge of a small site, or a shallow construction beneath public open spaces. The entire structure is wrapped in a permeable geotextile to prevent silt migration. With a 95% void ratio, the structure is very compact compared to rubble-filled soakaways which typically have a 30% void ratio.

Ridgidrain

In certain applications, where the ground is naturally very permeable, standard perforated, large diameter Polypipe Ridgidrain may be laid horizontally along verges or vertically down boreholes to receive rainwater collected from the roof or car parking area and recharge the local groundwater.

Attenuation Solutions

Polystorm

Polystorm attenuation solutions feature individual modular cells that can be built up to form a loadbearing tank structure of any shape or size to receive rainwater collected from the gutter system and surfaces ready to release at a
controlled rate.

Ridgidrain

Ridgistorm attenuation solutions feature a tank structure of interconnected, large diameter Ridgidrain pipes with welded end plates, that receives rainwater from the gutter system and surfaces ready to release at a controlled rate.

Ridgisewer

Rainwater from several properties flows into a traditional Ridgisewer system that includes a long section, eg 250m, upsized to a larger diameter, eg 900mm, to act as a linear tank sewer attenuation solution. At the outlet of the upsized section a flow control device releases water at a controlled rate.

Stormtank
Stormtank attenuation solutions feature large traditional GRP tanks that receive rainwater from the gutter system ready to release at a controlled rate.

Key Benefits:

  • 95% void ratio allowing greater storage and reduced excavation and disposal costs
  • Modular units allow flexibility of shape - ideal for shallow excavation systems, narrow strips, or use in restricted areas
  • Lightweight and easily assembled
  • High surface permeability
